ClearCOGS has been featured among the North American companies in Forward Fooding’s 2025 FoodTech 500, a global ranking of businesses working at the intersection of food, technology and sustainability. The recognition puts restaurant decision intelligence in a wider conversation about building more efficient food systems.

Forward Fooding’s North American AgriFoodTech roundup, published October 23, 2026, includes ClearCOGS among 105 companies from the United States and Canada. The official ClearCOGS profile lists the company at No. 284 globally in the 2025 edition. The October article highlights that existing ranking; the edition year remains 2025.

What is the FoodTech 500?

Created by Forward Fooding, the FoodTech 500 is an annual ranking of AgriFoodTech startups and scaleups. It brings together companies addressing different parts of the food system, from agricultural production and new food products to restaurant operations and waste reduction.

For ClearCOGS, inclusion is recognition of a practical opportunity: helping restaurant teams make better decisions about the food they prepare, the ingredients they order and the labor they schedule. Those decisions happen every day, across every location, and their effects accumulate.

Decision intelligence for everyday restaurant operations

ClearCOGS is a decision intelligence company serving restaurant operators. Its platform turns operational data into preparation, ordering and staffing guidance, giving teams a clearer plan for the day.

Forecasting supports that work, but the useful outcome is the decision that follows. A manager needs to know how much chicken to prepare, how many bagels to bake or how to staff the next shift. A prediction becomes valuable when it helps someone act.

ClearCOGS connects those questions to practical outputs such as daily ingredient-level prep sheets, order guides and labor plans. The goal is to make data useful inside the restaurant’s existing routines, where managers are balancing changing demand, product availability and the guest experience.

Why better production decisions matter

Overproduction carries more than an ingredient cost. Food takes time to prepare, space to store and energy to cook. When that food goes unsold, the restaurant has already spent those resources. Underproduction creates a different problem: unavailable menu items and disappointed guests.

Better decisions help operators manage that tradeoff. Preparing closer to demand can reduce unnecessary production while keeping teams focused on serving customers. It also connects margin improvement with food-waste prevention through an everyday operating practice.

One operator’s experience makes that connection tangible. In his account of using ClearCOGS, Don B describes tightening bagel production and adjusting baking shifts, reporting approximately $4,000 per month in labor savings related to overproduction. That is his reported result, rather than a guarantee for every restaurant. Read more in our bagel-shop customer story.

Recognition that connects back to the kitchen

Being included in the FoodTech 500 is a milestone for ClearCOGS. Our focus remains the work behind it: helping restaurant operators turn the information they already have into decisions their teams can use.

For operators, the next step is straightforward. Start with the production, ordering or staffing decision that creates the most friction, and explore what a clearer daily plan could change.
