Catering belongs in the prep plan.
A forecast built only on POS history knows what walked through the door. It cannot see a lunch order for forty placed through ezCater three days out. ClearCOGS has finalized an API agreement with ezCater that puts our access to the ezCater Orders API on a formal, agreed footing. The integration is designed to bring your authorized ezCater orders into each location’s ClearCOGS forecast alongside dine-in and takeout demand, so the morning plan reflects what is already sold.
Contact Our TeamWhat ezCater + ClearCOGS delivers
ClearCOGS connects to the ezCater Orders API with read-only access for the locations you share. It sees the catering orders on the books for those locations. It cannot create, edit or cancel anything.
Those orders are brought into each location’s ClearCOGS forecast alongside dine-in and takeout demand, so the prep guidance your kitchen receives covers the trays as well as the line.
Nobody re-keys catering orders into a spreadsheet or a second system. ClearCOGS and ezCater set up the authorization between them, you share the locations you want covered, and once those orders are flowing they land in the same daily plan your kitchen already gets.

Why ezCater + ClearCOGS
ClearCOGS has signed ezCater’s API terms, so catering demand reaches the forecast through an agreed, read-only path instead of a workaround. Nothing about it is informal.
The connection reads authorized ezCater orders and writes nothing back. Your menus, your pricing and your order workflow stay exactly as they are.
Dine-in, takeout and authorized ezCater catering are planned together for each location, so a big catering day is not a surprise to the prep list or the order guide.
Toast, Square, and Oracle Simphony are among the POS systems ClearCOGS reads, one way, for sales data. Adding ezCater adds a demand source; it changes nothing about how you use your POS.
ClearCOGS reads authorized ezCater orders for your shared locations through the ezCater Orders API, with read-only access. Those orders are brought into each location’s forecast alongside dine-in and takeout demand, and the prep and ordering guidance your team receives reflects them.
Authorized ezCater orders for the locations you have shared with us. Catering that comes in by phone or through your own app and gets rung into the POS on the day is a separate demand stream. ClearCOGS helps you plan for that too, but it is not part of the ezCater connection.
No. The connection is read-only. ClearCOGS does not create, edit, accept or cancel orders, and it does not change your menus, your pricing or the way your team runs the account. You keep running ezCater exactly as you do now.
Book a call. We connect your POS and build a forecast for every location, then ClearCOGS and ezCater set up read-only authorization for catering orders at the locations you choose. ClearCOGS itself is typically live in about three weeks from kickoff.
Tell your ClearCOGS implementation rep, or book a call with the team. ClearCOGS and ezCater set up the authorization between them; your part is to share the locations you want included. Once the orders are flowing, they show up in the same daily plan you already get.
Because a forecast built only on walk-in history cannot see it. A large order placed days ahead is known demand, and it belongs in the plan as known demand rather than as a surprise on the morning it is due. Rung through the POS on delivery day instead, the same order distorts the walk-in baseline and inflates future prep. Bringing authorized ezCater orders into the forecast gives that demand its own place.
